What to do when visiting us in Paradise Valley!
Querencia Lodge is set in the middle of Paradise Valley and the beauty of southwest Montana. The scenery is stunning and the activities are endless. Below you’ll find a variety of options to consider when planning your trip. For questions or more information, please contact Joe.

Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park is the crown jewel of our national park system and our most popular attraction. www.yellowstonepark.com
This has been an exceptional year for viewing wildlife in the Park, with our guests reporting seeing wolves, grizzly bears with cubs, black bears with cubs, hundreds of elk bison, deer, and antelope. https://yellowstoneswildworld.com
Yellowstone Park is also an exceptional fishery. Think about planning a walk and wade fishing trip in Yellowstone Park, a memory of a lifetime, and we can assist you. www.yellowstoneriveroutfitters.com.

World Class Fly Fishing
Yes, A River Runs Through It! The Yellowstone River is a clear, cold-water river full of trout and it flows right by us. Wading is accessible just a short walk away. We are also surrounded by numerous freestone streams that flow into the Yellowstone. We are at the confluence of Mill Creek and the Yellowstone River. Ask Joe for directions and advice; it’s his favorite stream!
Armstrong’s Spring Creek and Depuy’s Spring Creek are only minutes away and attract fly-fishers from all over the world.
Yellowstone Park is our first choice fly fishing destination. The Park is stunningly beautiful, only an hour’s drive away, full of wadable rivers and streams with visible wildlife everywhere.
Yellowstone River Outfitters offers both full and half day guided walk and wade trips for beginners and experts alike. Equipment and lunch are included. https://youtu.be/oLhY-dP70Ig?si=ReNeYcmH4ifl8opy
Our favorite fly shops are Angler’s West, Hatch Finder’s, and George Anderson’s Yellowstone Angler.

Horseback Riding
While we have horses onsite, you can also grab a bag of carrots at the Emigrant Store and take the kids (of all ages) to feed the horses at the Chico Corral.
We recommend the safe and scenic horseback ride at Bear Paw Outfitters https://www.bearpawoutfittersmt.com and Chico Hotsprings, https://rockinhk.com.
Reservations are recommended.

Hiking
There are world-class hikes nearby. Our favorites are relatively short to cascading waterfalls. The most popular are hikes to Pine Creek Falls, Passage Creek Falls, and Emigrant Creek near Old Chico.
Thompson Lake is full of fish and is accessible by a relatively flat, well-marked trail. Hikes to Elbow Lake and Pine Creek Lake are more arduous but may be accomplished, out and back, in a day.
Querencia has complimentary bear spray! Make sure to take a rain jacket, too.

Scenic Drift Boat Floats
Querencia offers scenic drift boat floats on both the Yellowstone and Madison Rivers. Whether it’s a river float during the morning accompanied with a glass of champagne, in the afternoon with a riverside picnic, or in the evening with wine and cheese, spending time on the river is always a relaxing way to take in the Montana views.
Ask Joe for details. Up to four people, three to four hours on the river: $500. Rowing lessons are included.
